Excuse the mess…

I reverted back to the standard Zac 990 theme for the time being. Things will go back to how they were, I just needed a fresh slate to make the changes I had in mind. Course I might just scrap the whole thing and move the whole blog on to my main site, cavanahphoto.com

So between the Fourth of July weekend down in Arkansas, in which I did take pictures for the 30 day project (really cute ones too), and a bout of stomach flu for a few days after, I kind of fell off with the project. Rather than just put some pics up and try to play catch up, I’m going to honor the intent of the project and start over, probably on Monday. So look for that.

Also, look for photos from the weekend too. That’ll probably come later tonight.

30 Days: Day 3

Well, the last half of the Cavanah Clan’s 4th went a little downhill. While docking the boat, I dropped my sister’s keys, including car, house, and work keys, at the dock. Well, the last half of the Cavanah Clan’s 4th went a little downhill. While docking the boat, I dropped my sister’s keys, including car, house, and work keys, at the dock. They’re now resting about 30ft down in Table Rock Lake. When we got back from trying to fish the keys up with some strong magnets we found out my sister had lost the dog while shooting off fireworks. We all went looking for her and eventually a friendly neighbor returned her to us. But the damage of being out in the heat and not having got a lot of water was done on my older sister who hasn’t felt well since. We were worried she was getting too dehydrated and Dad drove to Cassville to get some medicine. Looks like she’s starting to turn the corner though. Hopefully we’re all recovered by tomorrow. I grabbed this frame just before the mess started.

30 Days: Day 2

It’s bad enough that I have to work the night before July 4, does it really need to rain? I was planning on driving down to Arkansas to meet up with my family after I got off work tonight, but I’m a half hour into my shift and I’m pretty sleepy. Might put the drive off until the morning.

30 Days: Day 1

I’m finally going to start a 30 Day project. Premise, if you’re unfamiliar, is simple. Shoot at least one photo every day and post one photo each day for 30 days. With my new HTC Hero I’ve always got a somewhat decent camera on me so I figured it was a good time to start. [...]

I’m finally going to start a 30 Day project. Premise, if you’re unfamiliar, is simple. Shoot at least one photo every day and post one photo each day for 30 days. With my new HTC Hero I’ve always got a somewhat decent camera on me so I figured it was a good time to start. And this photo was taken on my Hero. I’m still working out the setting on it. The sharpening was set to zero but this is how it came out of the phone. Little too sharp for my tastes so I cranked the sharpening down. Hopefully future photos won’t be so over sharp.

This was sitting out in the parking lot of my apartment complex. Guess someone had a good night out there last night.

I had a pretty busy weekend over Memorial Day weekend working for the Columbia Daily Tribune. I’ll try to put some photos up of everything I was up to later, but for now, click here to check out their website and see what I was up to.

Gettin’ Wet

I’ve been working at MizzouRec for the last two and a half years and I’ve made a name for myself around there for my enthusiasm to get wet and take some pictures. I mean, hey, who wouldn’t want to take some pictures of little kids having a ton of fun in a pool? On top of that, they Rec purchased some new equipment, including a Canon 16-35mm f/2.8. The only other lens we had up until now that fit into our underwater housing was a Caon 17-85 f/4-5.6. Having those extra stops has paid off big time with the new lens. And I don’t have to worry about the corners getting cut off by the housing anymore. Here’s a shot from my shoot tonight.
